Town of Oakville Community Spirit Awards

As part of a grant from the Town of Oakville, I recently completed a series of 8 paintings for Oakville Community Spirit Awards. These awards portrayed vignettes of how everyday community actions and annual events can help to create positive community changes.

These acrylic paintings were created for awards such as Leadership, Good Neighbour, Arts, Culture and Heritage, Diversity, Climate Action, Equity and Inspiration. The paintings, based on Oakville scenes such as Bronte Creek, Morrison Creek, Sovereign House, Tannery Park and Bronte Provincial park, ranging in size from 8″ x 10″ to 9″ x 12″, portrayed the range of multiculturalism, diversity of ages and abilities that make up the Oakville community. The deserving award winners were presented with their respective paintings on Thursday June 6 at an awards ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Park Cultural Centre in Oakville, Ontario.
