As part of a grant from the Town of Oakville, I recently completed a series of 8 paintings for the Oakville Community Spirit Awards. To see my background process click here to see a YouTube video created by wonderful photographer Rob Ditlz of radicalbob.com.

These awards portrayed vignettes of how everyday community actions and annual events can help to create positive community changes. These acrylic paintings were created for awards such as Leadership, Good Neighbour, Arts, Culture and Heritage, Diversity, Climate Action, Equity and Inspiration. The paintings, based on Oakville scenes such as Bronte Creek, Morrison Creek, Sovereign House, Tannery Park and Bronte Provincial park, ranging in size from 8″ x 10″ to 9″ x 12″, portrayed the range of multiculturalism, diversity of ages and abilities that make up the Oakville community. The deserving award winners were presented with their respective paintings on Thursday June 6 at an awards ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Park Cultural Centre in Oakville, Ontario. Click here for more info. Thank you to photographer, Nikki Wesley for her awards night photography.
