Pastel Artists Canada 2021 9th Annual Online Juried Exhibition

Women’s Art Association of Hamilton: “Celebrating the History of Hamilton”

“Celebrating the History of Hamilton” is an exhibition marking the 125 years of art in Hamilton. “Winter Skate at Princess Point 2020” is a 12 x 24′ acrylic painting, I portray families during Covid teaching their children how to skate on Hamilton’s Princess Point. At that time, everyone was craving exercise and social engagement and the outdoors were the only available option. The exhibition at The Cotton Factory, 270 Sherman Ave N., Hamilton, Ontario, runs from Dec 4, 2021 to January 29, 2022. Opening reception, Jan 22, 2-4pm.

Thank you to the Artists Mark Committee and sponsors for the tremendous effort put into this project to support local artists. Thank you to jurors Jennifer Heine and Clarence A Porter who had the challenging task of choosing forty pieces from a large number of outstanding diverse submissions. It was helpful to hear the rationale behind your insightful choices. Burlington Artscape “A Leaf for Life”

Happy to donate my “Leaf For Life” painted aluminum leaf, “Summer Fun at Spencer Smith Park” for the fundraising initiative in support of Joseph Brant Hospital.

Art will be sold to businesses and residents in Burlington for $750, with all proceeds going directly to Joseph Brant Hospital.

There will be a public display of the work of the 50 chosen artists on August 8, 15, 22 on the property of Grace United Church, 2111 Walkers Line, Burlington at 10 to 4pm..

My painting “Summer Fun at Spencer Smith Park” portrays the fun that children and their parents were having on a hot summer day.  Spencer Smith Park’s waterfront playground is a welcome respite, especially after a year of the restrictions of Covid.  The children are having fun: playing and socializing outdoors, enjoying the playground equipment, riding their bikes and scooters and meeting new people, including those who are disabled.  The two Moms enjoy the park as a safe outing for their young children as well as a way for much needed conversation.
