Bruce Trail Inspired III

My planning for the upcoming art fundraiser for the Bruce Trail Conservancy, “Bruce Trail Inspired III” (to be held from Nov 16 to Dec 6 at the Holcium Gallery, Milton, Ontario), involves not just painting but a lot of preparation beforehand. This involves lots of research i.e. photos, hikes and plein air studies along the Bruce Trail to find inspiring scenes. Lucky for me, the Bruce Trail offers an abundance of beautiful inspiring scenes. Recently, I had a wonderful time with fellow Bruce Trail artists Anne More, Janet Jardine, Rob Peachey, Victoria Pearce, seen near the beginning of the trail in Tobermory,Ontario. Look for some Tobermory inspired scenes in this upcoming show.

My acrylic painting, “From the Mountains to the Marshland”, 24″ x 24″, is based on a scene from Bic Park, Gaspe, Quebec and portrays the rocks and mountains that have weathered over time. My oil painting, “Canadian Landscape Rooted in Resilience”, is based on a scene from Algonquin Park, where trees somehow find a way to thrive amidst the rocky Canadian Shield. This shows the tenacity, grit and resilience of the Canadian spirit
