The Artist’s Mark, Burlington Fine Art Association Juried Show

I am delighted to have my pastel painting “Summer Reflections”, 19 x 27″, accepted into BFAA’s The Artist’s Mark Juried show. Thank you to the Artists Mark Committee and sponsors for the tremendous effort put into this project to support local artists. Thank you to jurors Jennifer Heine and Clarence A Porter . This show will be featured at the Hub Gallery, Burlington Centre mall in Burlington from April 22 to May 1, 2022.

Four Season Retreat: Quiet Beauty on Oakville’s Trails

The theme of my latest show is “Four Season Retreat: Quiet Beauty on Oakville’s Trails” is how the local Oakville forests, trails and wetlands that have helped us recharge both physically and spiritually during these challenging times.  The show is on display until May 2, 2022 at the Queen Elizabeth Park Cultural Centre, 2302 Bridge Road in Oakville, Ontario. McMichael Canadian Art En Plein Air Competition

Grateful and honoured to have my pastel “Sunny Day on the Humber Trail Bridge” a part of this year’s McMichael Plein Air Competition 30 artist short list. With 77 artists and over 150 submissions this year the competition was extremely high and I am very grateful to be in the company of such wonderful plein air artists. The exhibition at the McMichael Canadian Collection Community gallery in Kleinberg will be on display from Dec 10, 2021 to April 3, 2022. Women’s Art Association of Hamilton: “Celebrating the History of Hamilton”

“Celebrating the History of Hamilton” is an exhibition marking the 125 years of art in Hamilton. “Winter Skate at Princess Point 2020” is a 12 x 24′ acrylic painting, I portray families during Covid teaching their children how to skate on Hamilton’s Princess Point. At that time, everyone was craving exercise and social engagement and the outdoors were the only available option. The exhibition at The Cotton Factory, 270 Sherman Ave N., Hamilton, Ontario, runs from Dec 4, 2021 to January 29, 2022. Opening reception, Jan 22, 2-4pm.

Heart of the Country

Heart of the Country, Recent Landscapes features landscapes by Burlington Fine Art Association artists Cathy Lorraway, Jake Bouwman and Gerda Wolker. This exhibition will feature many plein air ie. painted on location, as well as larger original Ontario landscapes at the Hub gallery, located in the Burlington Centre Mall, 777 Guelph Line, Burlington Ontario. Heart of the Country: Recent Landscapes exhibition will take place November 15 to 21, 2021 . Come meet the artists Saturday Nov. 20 from 11-4pm.

This show had to be postponed from last year due to Covid.

Oakville Culture Days at Sovereign House

“Out and About En Plein Air”

As part of Oakville Culture Days 2021 Out and About En Plein Air, an exhibition of plein air paintings beginning Sept 18 to Sept 29, 2021 by Cathy Lorraway, Callie Archer, Jake Bouwman, Lois Crawford, Ann Oakley, Colleen Patrick, Carol Sanders, Zara Liaghat, Joanna Zakrzewski and Thomas Young will be featured at Sovereign House, 7 River Rd West, Oakville, Ontario. McMichael Canadian Art Collection En Plein Air Competition

I am honoured to join 80 other plein air artists from Saturday, August 28 to Sunday, September 26 in McMichael’s En Plein Air Competition. Artists will celebrate the legacy of the Humber River by responding to the natural and cultural heritage through art in two distinct mediums: canvas/panel and/or paper. Successful applicants for the 2021 En Plein Air Competition will be able to return to the grounds over the course of a month to capture and share their unique vision of the Humber River Valley, village of Kleinberg and McMichael’s grounds. The final group of 15 shortlisted artists will be selected to display their works in-gallery as well as online. The in-gallery and online exhibitions will be on view from October 30, 2021 to April 3, 2022 and will feature short artist statements.

Paint Ontario Art Exhibition and Sale

Paint Ontario is Ontario’s Foremost Show and Sale for Representational Painters at the Lambton Heritage Museum, Grand Bend. A production of the Grand Bend Art Centre
Inspiring Creativity in the Community, the show attracts visitors from all over Southern Ontario and beyond. All monies raised in commission go directly back into the community to support arts initiatives through the Grand Bend Art Centre.

Held from September 3 to September 26, 2021, “Snow Dogs” and “Fields of Goldenrod” will be on display at this year’s show and sale.
