Painting Pet Portraits Workshop – Spring 2019
In this one day workshop, children learned to paint their favourite pet, alongside their parent.
Course description – Using acrylics, learn techniques for painting loosely, with a focus on expressive brushwork using bold and harmonious colour. Bring in a photo or magazine clipping of your favourite pet or animal. Reference material will also be provided. Learn how to paint scales, fur and feathers!
Artist in the Classroom Grade 2 to 6
On three separate occasions in 2018, 2019 and 2020, Cathy provided introductory painting skills lessons to primary school children at Saint Benedict’s Elementary school, based in Yeppoon, Australia.
Drawing for Portfolio Workshop – 2017
Over a 2 week workshop, high school students learned important principles and requirements for developing a portfolio to help them with art school university admission.
Artist in the Classroom Kindergarten to Grade 4
In 1995, Cathy provided introductory landscape painting skills lessons to school children at the Credit Woodlands Elementary School, Mississauga.
High School Art Educator – 1986 to 2015
Cathy was an art teacher at Loyola Catholic Secondary school in the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School board between 1986 to 2015. Cathy taught various art related courses including painting and photography during this period. Her achievements during this time also include numerous school mural projects, project leader for the school’s year book for several years, Arts Assistant Department Head between 1989 to 1999 and the Subject Council Chair for the board during 2010 to 2013.
