SOLD! I’m happy to have this recent pastel, "Tenacity", based on a scene from the Bruce Trail at Mount Nemo, resonate with a family member visiting from Alberta. Thank you for supporting my art practice and bringing a part of Ontario home. #oakvilleartist #canadianartist #brucetrailconservancy #ontarioartist #brucetrail See MoreSee Less

The Burlington Fine Art Association’s Gery Puley B.F.A.A. Founder’s Award honours an individual who has made a sustained contribution to the creative life and growth of the B.F.A.A. as well as involvement in Art Gallery of Burlington events and the community of Burlington. Recently Karin Dean Williams and myself were honoured with this award from Dominique Prevost, Joan Carte and BFAA president Mia Jones. However, I really think rather than the BFAA thanking me for volunteering, I should be thanking them! During the past decade, the BFAA has provided community, friendships, opportunities to learn more about art creation, exhibitions, juried shows and the professional side of art making. I treasure the Tuesday morning sketch group at the AGB which has become my third space or home away from home. Thank you for this wonderful honour and all of your community and friendship over the past years. #oakvilleartist #artcommunity #localartgallery #burlingtonlocalart #ontarioartcommunity See MoreSee Less

I learn a lot from each painting and especially from the process of this latest acrylic commission in a relatively large format from getting permission for the photographic reference, cropping and resizing the photo, sketches, colour studies, mapping in the under painting, blocking in the sky to set the atmosphere, then the major areas of water and land. Here is an overview of some of my process. #acrylicpaintingprocess #oakvilleartsociety #burlingtonfineart #colourandformsociety #societyofcanadianart #ontariosocietyofartists See MoreSee Less

Happy to finally show my Irish commission titled "Sunset Memories of Galway Bay" to it’s new owner. It was fun acrylic painting to complete despite the daunting 48" x 36" size. Thank you to Patryk Kośmider for permission to use his reference photo (see more of his photos at @photo_patryk_kosmider). Following my artists’ friends practice, I did a reveal. #artcommission #oakvilleartist #canadianartist #ontarioartist #landscapeartist See MoreSee Less

My planning for the upcoming art fundraiser for the Bruce Trail Conservancy, "Bruce Trail Inspired III" (to be held from Nov 16 to Dec 6 at the Holcium Gallery, Milton, Ontario), involves not just painting but a lot of preparation beforehand. This involves lots of research i.e. photos, hikes and plein air studies along the Bruce Trail to find inspiring scenes. Lucky for me, the Bruce Trail offers an abundance of beautiful inspiring scenes. Here are a few. I hope this summer you are able to also see these scenes from Balls Falls, Hoggs Falls and Walters Falls that will also encourage you to support the conservation of the Bruce Trail. #brucetrailconservancy #brucetrailforall #brucetrail #BruceTrailInspired #oakvilleartist See MoreSee Less
